چکیده
relationship to the filler may be the solution to polymerization shrinkage and clinical challenges (i.e., shrinkage stress) that are associated with these methacrylate-based composite resin systems. Two recently developed composite-resin systems have replaced the weak linkthe matrix. A comparison of the new matrix chemistries of both systems can provide the attributes and capabilities for their clinical application.

Effect of adhesive primers on bonding strength of heat cure denture base resin to cast titanium and cobalt-chromium alloy
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM The poor chemical bonding of a denture base resin to cast titanium framework often introduces adhesive failure and increases microleakage. PURPOSE This study evaluated the shear bond strengths of a heat cure denture base resin to commercially pure titanium, Ti-6Al-4V alloy and a cobalt-chromium alloy using two adhesive primers. MATERIAL AND METHODS Disks of commercially...
متن کاملThe effect of denture base surface pretreatments on bond strengths of two long term resilient liners
PURPOSE Purpose of this study was to evaluate effect of two surface treatments, sandblasting and monomer treatment, on tensile bond strength between two long term resilient liners and poly (methyl methacrylate) denture base resin. MATERIALS AND METHODS Two resilient liners Super-Soft and Molloplast-B were selected.Sixty acrylic resin (Trevalon) specimens with cross sectional area of 10×10 mm ...
متن کاملEffect of Solvent properties on Crystallinity and Morphology of Octavinyl-POSS: A Comparative Study
Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxanes (POSSs) are a class of hybrid structures synthesized through hydrolytic condensation (Sol-Gel method) of trifunctional silane monomers under specific conditions. Octavinyl silsesquioxane (OVS) nanostructures are comprised of a rigid inorganic silica core surrounded by vinyl functional groups with an under-developed synthesis procedure. Generally, POSS morph...
متن کاملDetermination of Residual Methylmethacrylate Monomerin Denture Base Resins by Gas Chromatography
Acrylic base resins are widely used in orthopedics and dental surgery. It is generally accepted that due to the incomplete conversion of methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer to the polymer form during polymerization of the resin, some MMA monomers remain in the hardened material. MMA monomer has been reported to cause abnormalities or lesions in several organs of animals. Study of the literatures ...
متن کاملBasic studies on visible light-cured resin as a denture base. Part 17. Transverse and tensile strengths of repaired denture base resin using a trial repair resin.
Trial production of a visible light-cured repair resin (powder/liquid type, TPL) as a denture base resin was carried out using cyclophosphazene monomer, and then the transverse and tensile strengths of the repaired specimens were examined. As a control, Triad Gel (TRI) was used. In the transverse strength test, TPL showed values of 507-470 kgf/cm2, which were about double those of TRI. As for t...
